Red Oak
Traditionally, Japanese bath stools are made from Hinoki (Japanese Cypress) because of its durability, water resistance, anti-bacterial properties, and aromatic scent— making it perfect for bathroom use.
Red oak was chosen to accommodate availability and suitability as an accent stool. Red oak is known for its strength and durability, making it a great choice for multiple applications such as a seat, step stool, or side table. Its easy workability, cost effectiveness, and wide availability make it beneficial for manufacturing. While its color, texture and grain pattern creates a unique aesthetic and provides visual interest in a space.
